Allan was raised by a highly sensitive person* - his single, neurotic, Mother. He got his comedy start at an early age by riffing on his Mom's issues at the dinner table. The jokes which nailed the touchy subjects landed the biggest laughs, and although some got him grounded, they were always worth it. Making light of his own and others' misery became very natural to him. Now you can see him drawing on these experiences in comedy venues other than his Mother's Dining Room, although it's still one of his favorite places to perform.
